My research is centred around the literature of the Crusades, with a particular focus on the First Crusade and the texts known as the First and Second Crusade Cycles. I work mainly on Old French and Latin, and have also done some work on Occitan epic.
My current projects include an online edition and translation of a hitherto unpublished narrative of the Old French Siège d'Antioche from manuscripts in the Bodleian and British Libraries, in collaboration with Simon Parsons, Linda Paterson and the Fordham Center for Medieval Studies.

I am an Honorary Research Fellow at Warwick University and have held an Honorary Research Associate position at Royal Holloway College, University of London.
